Q: Are your juices organic?
A: Yes. All our drinks and food are organic and are certified by the Soil Association, the UK's leading Organic certifiers. 

Q: What are the benefits of the green juices vs. juices with fruit?
A: The main benefit of green juice is its alkalizing effect. Fruit juices are more astringent; essentially the fruit digs it up and the green moves it out.

Q: How often should I do a cleanse?
A: A good rule of thumb is whenever you experience any of the following: fatigue/general lack of energy, sleeplessness, anxiety/depression, digestive problems, at the first sign of a cold and of course, before and after holidays or any special events that lead to overindulging. We recommend doing a cleanse at least 3 times a year for at least three days. This allows your body the proper rest and recovery time it needs to maintain optimum health. Make it a healthy habit - the immune system loves a consistent schedule.

Q: What’s better, three days or five days?
A: Depending on the length of the cleanse, it accomplishes different things. A three day cleanse helps the body rid itself of old built up matter and cleanses the blood. A five day cleanse starts the process of rebuilding and healing the immune system. The length of a cleanse is an entirely personal decision. That being said you will certainly feel a dramatic difference if you cleanse for five vs. three days. Two extra days, that’s 60% more cleanse time. You reap more benefits the longer you cleanse. Certain substances take longer to leave you system than others, i.e. caffeine does not take as long as dairy, and dairy does not take as long as protein.

Q: What do I eat when I’m done with my cleanse?
A: Firstly before any cleanse, you should lighten up – gradually. If you eat everything, e.g. meat, cheese, sweets, alcohol, etc, you should slowly eliminate these a few days before and incorporate lighter fare which might include: steamed veggies, wine or sake instead of hard liquor (although, for your education, you should eliminate all alcohol a few days before and focus on hydrating), fish instead of steak and baked instead of fried. You get the idea. The same general rule also applies to the post-cleanse menu. You need to stay away from dense, processed foods.

Q: What are detox symptoms? Will I get them?
A: During a cleanse, the body is essentially tearing down all of the "bad stuff" and rebuilding with new material. To make room for that new material, the "bad stuff" needs to leave; how it makes its exit is your potential crisis. For example: when the body eliminates coffee, symptoms usually include headaches, nervousness, and shakiness. When protein, meats, and fats are eliminated, you may experience skin eruptions, foul body odor, or a coated tongue.

Q: Is it OK to exercise while cleansing?
A: Yes!! Light exercise is beneficial to the detoxification process and you may be very surprised at the amount of energy that you have during your juice cleanse however, we wouldn't recommend anything too strenuous, listen to your body and think of your cleanse as a rest and reset for mind body and soul.

Q: I have a work meeting that I can’t be drinking a juice at, if I eat a light salad, will it totally mess it up?
A: This is not the end of the world, and you’ll be just fine. Try to stick to simple plant based foods. Our best recommendation is to schedule your cleanse when your schedule is least complicated.

Q: How should I store my juice?
A: Get them in the fridge as soon as you receive them.  You can store the ice packs in your freezer to use if you need to travel with your juices.

Q: Can I do cleanse if I have diabetes?
A.There are many types of diabetes. Usually, regardless of the type, the answer to this is no because of the amount of sugar in the fruit juice, but you should always check with your doctor first.

Q: Can I do juice cleanse if I am lactose intolerant?
A: YES!!! There are absolutely NO animal products in our juice.

Q: I have a gluten allergy, can I do it?
A: Absolutely! We are gluten free. In fact there is nothing added to our juice but juice! Absolutely NO additives and 100% vegan.

Q: How many calories are in each level?
A: Each option offers between 860 - 1040 calories. The count varies from level to level by about 100 calories. However, please bear in mind that counting calories with raw foods and juice is not equivalent to the calories you count on a traditional diet of cooked and/or processed foods. Nothing is wasted here, as the body knows how to assimilate all the calories in raw live foods, whereas a regular diet of 2,000 calories for example, might only have about 1200 useable calories and the rest is “wasted” or stored as fat. We do try to encourage all our clients to move away from calorie oriented thinking, as it’s really no comparison. 500 calories of live juice is NOT the same 500 calories as a bagel with cream cheese! We try to focus on the nutritional content as opposed to the calorie content; Blend & Press is more about nutrition and flooding your body with live enzymes.

Q: Can I do this if I am pregnant or nursing?
A: As a supplement to your current diet, yes. Alone? No. You actually need to add a LOT more calories than you normally consume while nursing. The body is looking for all the calories it can find so your child can grow, etc. The problem with any type of cleanse while pregnant or nursing is that you release a substantial amount of toxins back into your system, which is what your baby relies on for nourishment. That said, adding Blend & Press cold pressed juice to your regular diet while nursing and/or pregnant will give you the added nourishment your body so desperately needs during that time.
